Marsha De la O, author of Creature
Maxine Chernoff, author of Light and Clay
Rebecca Foust, author of ONLY

About the poets:

In Marsha de la O’s new book, Creature, embodiment is always on the verge of transformation.  The poems find connection with other life forms: hawks, hummingbirds, pelicans, lizards, horses, squid.  Expanses open; words become proximate to mystery.  This is a project on moving into otherness.

Maxine Chernoff’s latest book is a new and selected titled Light and Clay (MadHat Press), containing  "reverse sonnets" written during the Covid shutdown. It expresses the deep connections between  human consciousness,  community and nature. She will also read from “diary,” a work in progress, many of whose poems deal with our current world of wars and loss and the redemptive power of love.

Rebecca Foust’s fourth book, ONLY (Four Way Books, 2022), earned a starred review in Publishers Weekly and in 2023, her poems won the New Ohio Review prize and were runner-up for the Missouri Review Editors’ Prize. She’ll read from a new book of poems that aspire to be political and hot. Or vice versa. Becky was Poet Laureate of Marin County from 2017 - 2019.
